This beautiful Decanter can serve up to 54oz/1.6L and is made from lead-free crystal. Hand wash only please. Designed by Antonio Citterio and Toan Nguyen.
The perfectly formed mouth-blown shape of Citterio and Nguyen’s Decanter was thoughtfully designed to enhance the qualities of its contents. The neck opens slightly, allowing the wine to breathe and releasing the flavors and bouquet that have been locked inside it. The clean, clear design lets in light to ignite the brilliant color of wine. While it fits naturally with any glassware, it’s at its best when matched with Iittala’s range of wine glasses.
An internationally renowned designer and architect, Antonio Citterio has won many prizes including the Compasso d’Oro in 1987 and 1995. He has developed a range of striking design and architecture commissions for companies like B&B Italia, Kartell and Vitra. His products are part of the MOMA permanent collection and the Centre di Pompidou in Paris.
The Iittala Company was founded in 1881 in Finland by a Swede named Petrus Magnus Abrahamsson. It was not until the 1920s and 30s, that Iittala as we know it came into being. In that era of burgeoning creativity, Iittala began to produce more artistic pieces. Most of Iittala porcelain and glass products are still made in Finland.
